Traditional Talk Therapy

During our time together, therapy may also include more traditional approaches, such as insight oriented questions, reflecting and validating your experience, listening without judgment, and encouraging your own process of self-discovery througout therapy. Goal-setting and focusing on solutions will be woven into therapy as we explore the available options to your particular issue. Psychoeducation may be provided as well as book recommendations that might encourage growth and empowerment.

Therapy may also involve efforts to replace negative thinking patterns or cognitions with positive thought patterns, or cognitions. I may do this through challenging, reframing and refocusing maladaptive thoughts as I begin to notice the underlying core beliefs you have about yourself or life.
